The Zero Waste Edition is pretty simple.  We strive to keep as much waste as we can from going to the landfills. Since we design and manufacture here in our own building, we cut & sewed up a bunch of leftover rip-stop nylon into the great vest we used to sell before Covid.

Named after the famous beach in La Jolla, California, this is the perfect vest to wear to keep the wind off your body when starting those early morning runs, hikes, or rides.  As you warm up, you can unzip for long climbs, then zip up on for the decents. With stuff pouch inside, it stores easily in a jersey pocket or one of the pockets on our 400-Mile Bibshorts.

    Just as I exspected!

I wanted a value priced vest I could wear both running and cycling,! Ordered a med (5'11.5 155lb) but due to the design (tad more square) I had to return and and exchange for a small, and Perfecto. But know not as aero as a specific cycling vest but I am sure that was Emilio's original intent!

    Packs down SMALL

This vest is comfortable and it packs down REALLY SMALL. I wore it on a ride and had no problems - it fit perfectly. And when I took it off, I folded it into its TINY stuff-pouch and it went in my back pocket. Great vest!

    For cool/windy days

Great addition for cool or windy days. Durable material. Love how how little it packs down to so it can easily fit in the back of my cycling jersey

It's de Soto. Of course it is good!

Great. Had it packed away for weeks prior to a trip to Ireland. When up packed as needed it was a wrinkled mess. Within minutes it looked amazing. Function and fashion. Good combo

Windansea Vest - Zero Waste Edition

This vest is kinda-sorta described as multisport, but the high cut of the front means it looks weird walking or running. Nice for what it is, but I'd still like to find an all-purpose vest that packs down as small as this one. I'd also prefer one that folded down instead of stuffing into a ball, much easier to stow in trouser or jacket pocket. I chose to recommend 'yes' for cycling only.

    My go to piece:

When I’m on the bike a like to wear a vest. It’s a good way to regulate heat and cold. The Desoto vest is so light and comfortable, you don’t realize you even have it on. It also folds down small enough to put in a Jersey pocket. This is my go to piece of gear. A great product.

    Keep the chill out.

I love using vests. You don’t get to hot, but its enough to keep the chill off. I like De Soto products for their quality and durability. It’s also light weight and can be stuffed in a Jersey pocket. I chose red for the visibility while riding on the road.

    Fantastic vest

I just ran a trail half-marathon that was quite windy at times, but on the limbs there was often no wind. I was able to regulate my temperature by just raising and lowering the zipper depending on the wind. It worked great for me during the race. It will be my go-to piece of apparel during the races in the colder temperatures.
