How to use this chart:
Find your height and weight on the size chart. This will narrow you down to one or two different sizes.
Bibjohn: Find your waist and hip measurements in the chart for your gender. This is your Bibjohn size.
Pullover: Find your chest and waist measurements in the chart for your gender. This is your Pullover size.
OTHER FACTORS:That you may find yourself in a different size top than bottom; it very common with T1 Wetsuits. It is very simple, imagine if you tried on two different sized one-piece wetsuits. You like the way the legs and hips feel on one of them, and you prefer the way the chest arms and shoulder feel on another. Simply put, this is what we offer combined with the notion that since the two pieces are not attached, but rather they overlap, there is a telescoping range between the bottom of the Pullover and the midsection of the Bibjohn to account for a larger range of heights and torso lengths!

A Warning About Certain Lubricants and their Affect on Fabrics: Many athletic lubricants, especially non-liquid types, (like Body Glide, vaseline, and chamois creams) work well for wetsuits, but not well for clothing. They tend to make clothing, especially loose clothing, sticky, instead of slick and slippery, and usually results in chafing. They will also damage, stain and discolor all fabrics over time. We advise against using them, and their use will nullify our warranty.

The two-piece design of the T1 Wetsuits offers more comfort and less restriction. The top and bottom are not attached. This means you have much more freedom of movement and there is no “torso-rubber stretch” or shoulder fatigue that occurs with one-piece wetsuits. All T1 models are sold as separates for a customized and personal fit. With up to seven sizes of tops and bottoms, you have 49 possible size combinations from which to choose. Other features we innovated many years ago include lower necklines and thicker rubber in the legs and hips to help float the largest bones and muscles in the body. More floatation here means more speed. T1 Wetsuits are not filled with gimmicks, just physics.

The Bibjohn is 5mm thick from the oval ankle openings up to the crotch and up the sides of the hips. From that seam up, the Bibjohn is 2mm thick. This includes the midsection around the stomach, low back, as well as the bib straps that extends up the spine in back and up the chest in front. It is designed this way so when you wear any of our T1 tops, the total rubber thickness remains less than 5mm thick. You have all the needed flexibility while still keeping your spine and vital organs warm. The total thickness also adheres to all rulings from all national and international governing organizations that limit the maximum wetsuit thickness to 5mm.

Bought because of its fit. Other brands don’t work for me at all. But it has other benefits too. 1. Very hard wearing. Other brands fall apart after 2-3 years of heavy use. This has remained good as new. 2. Doing triathlon in cold heavy rain, i recycled the top for the bike leg and it saved the day!

Love these bibs. Finally have a perfect fit top AND bottom. Felt like I had a pull buoy between my legs. No issue in St George Ironman when water temp was 60 degrees. Love them.
This wetsuit is amazing! I’ve tried many tri wetsuits and was never comfortable with shoulder mobility. The De Soto literally has no restrictions in the shoulders. I’m also very tall and the two piece design eliminates the pull in the crotch or shoulders that a one piece does. Super quick and easy to get in and out of also. Swam 4300 yards today in 58 degree water and never felt cold.
As my very first wetsuit, it is truly transformative. I am now able to enjoy the beautiful bay that I swim in all through the winter. First l want to say that I received such helpful advice from Tracy DeSoto in determining the right size. And the website info and videos are great. I was fortunate to be advised by two local swimmers that I should look no further than DeSoto. They were so right!
I wasn’t sure how I’d like the bib John wetsuit. My swim coach recommended it so my torso and hips could move more independently. My first swim was great, in 58 degree water, I felt perfectly comfortable. Second time, I really noticed that my low back did not bother me the way it normally does in a traditional wetsuit.
I’m a almost daily cold water swimmer, I get 160 plus uses before I order replacements.
This wetsuit is awesome. I have used my first Desoto wetsuit for7 years and it has been fantastic. It fits perfekt, it helps me in my swimming and it never make blisters. I har to by a new one because it was worn beyond any possible point of repair..
I love this rubber material! It’s so flexible, and I can take it on and off without that stiffness like my old wetsuit. I always had to have someone pull it off even with lubricant on my calves. I’ll be wearing these bibs with the matching top for those colder swims.
I’ll admit I’ve bought a few wetsuits in search of a suit that provides buoyancy, range of motion and comfort. T1 First Wave bibjohn paired with the T1 Concept 5 is by far the best in all of these areas. In addition, the two piece suit makes transition so much easier, especially in today’s race environment where volunteers are no longer assisting athletes with wetsuit removal.
Purchased my first T1 in 2003 and it was the warmest wetsuit ever! It was a challenge to get out of and did several Ironman's in it. Went on to Roka, which I liked, but after watching the video with Emilio getting out of the current design with a zipper in the top; I recently ordered another T1. It is the warmest wetsuit still and it is now the easiest to get out of! I love it. Also Emilio personally responded to a question I proposed and that was a very respectful and considerate thing to do.

Well, I like the suit cause of it's buoyancy.
This is my 2nd time getting this wetsuit. The first saw frequent use and many miles of swimming. Thick and flexible material keep my core and legs warm and "floaty" and makes this a fantastic wetsuit. This winter in San Diego I've been using it, along with a hood, to be able to comfortably swim in sub-59°f. open water. I NEVER thought I'd do that!
It’s the best wet suit I tried. I hit the ocean more now because of these. Super comfortable, warm, and great mobility. I’m 6’7” 230 lbs and it’s generally hard to find wetsuits that fits me well. My size 6 First Wave set fit perfectly. Highly recommended to other big guys.
The T1 First Wave Bibjohn is excellent. I had been swimming in a 5mm, one piece surfing wetsuit which was restrictive in the arms, chafed my neck and tortuous to get in and out of. The Bibjohn together with the T1 First Wave Concept Pullover top have greatly improved my swimming experience. The 2mm thickness in the shoulders makes the swim stroke much easier. The low neckline has eliminated the painful chafing from my surfing wetsuit. The two piece design is easier to get in and out of. It's plenty warm to swim comfortably for an hour in 52 degree water. The best feature of all, however, is that its design makes you a faster swimmer. With 2mm in the torso and 5mm in the legs of the Bibjohn, the suit provides buoyancy in the legs that really does make you feel like you are swimming downhill. I'm excited about this wetsuit because I will be able to keep swimming comfortably all winter.
I just received my new T1 First Wave wetsuit. This is probably the 4th or 5th DeSoto T1 I have owned over the past 20 plus years. I have loved my T1 suits, but was amazed with how great it is to swim in a new one. The fit, the feel of the Green Goma and just the overall quality are outstanding. My ocean swimming buddies who have bought a DeSoto wetsuit this season on my recommendation are now true believers.. Thx DeSoto for a great product and for making it better and better over the years. This is my third De Soto bibjohn. I couldn’t be happier with them; for triathlons and all my open water swims. I also have the long sleeve pullover, speed tube and speed vest. All are great products!
Last year I was diagnosed with SIPE and thru my research found DeSoto. This is the most comfortable wetsuit I have ever owned and I have not had an incident of SIPE this year. It is easy to get on and off, warm and best of all it is not uncomfortable around the neck. Emilio was awesome working with me to find the right size and made sure as I was getting use to the wetsuit that it was performing the way it should. Thank you!
This made up half of my first wetsuit purchase. As an extremely tall and slender triathlete, there really weren't many options out there on the market. To make matters worse, for whatever reason, the majority of mainstream wetsuit companies have absolutely horrendous customer service. No fewer than three companies completely ignored several voicemails and emails. Enter De Soto. I sent Emilio and the team a similar message to other vendors, but what I got back was astoundingly good service. My measurements, needs, and goals were confirmed ahead of time, and I was off to the races. And race I have, with about six or seven triathlons now under my belt.
