Keep yourself cool and protect yourself from the sun with this De Soto Innovation - A cyclist’s Bolero style top.

Sizing: Please refer to the size chart button above, for guidance on how to achieve the right fit. Sizing is based on "wingspan" measured across your back, standing up, from wrist bone to wrist bone.  If your measurement is a little over those shown, don't worry,  this fabric stretches a lot and you want the Coolwings to be SNUG against your skin.

Fit Type: Form fitting.
Fit Note:
Please do not assume your size, please use our size chart. If in doubt, email questions to contact@desotosport.com. Triathlon apparel is meant to fit next-to-skin. This is to eliminate potential chafing, and unnecessary drag during the swim, bike and run. If you’re not comfortable with this type of fit and or are between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Garment will fit the most snug the first time you put it on, it will relax slightly once wet.

Features and Benefits:

  • Skin Cooler 90™  fabric stretches with you, is soft next-to-skin and breathable
  • Fabric blocks 90% UVB rays and provides a cooling sensation when wet
  • Reflective logos for increased low-light visibility
  • Covers the shoulders, upper back, and arms
  • Wear it over or under any top.
  • We are often imitated.  Remember just because it is white, it does not mean the fabric will cool you.  READ ON!

What makes ours different?  Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm).  Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk.  It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet.  Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation.  Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.

A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL:  We received this letter from a respected Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon:

I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan.  I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier.  I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon.   Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma.  I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis.  It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines.  I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.

Note: No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

These things are unique. A creative twist on traditional arm sleeves that are comfortable and functional with the added bonus of being very cool looking. Bravo De Soto design team!

OK product, shoulder is too narrow, arm is too long.

Does not fit well. Would like to return it. But the return process is a bit of a hassle.

    It Works!

I was surprised by how well it works. Living in South Florida the heat this year has been up there. I’ve been wearing the most meshy shirts I can find when heading out to ride my bike. I was skeptical that a long sleeve was going to be comfortable, but to my surprise not only was it comfortable it was actually cooler. When I soaked it in water, it actually became a little chilly. A happy purchase for sure.

    Not for me

I used this for the first time today cycling. About 90 degrees and humid. It was worse than bare skin. Had to take it off.

    Great concept and wonderful fabric

I like everything about Coolwings. The fabric tryly does kep me cooler in hot weather if I'm sweating and/or if I spray it with water, and the fit is great. I especially like they dont slide down my arms like regular arm warmers/coolers.

    Performs well in tropical heat

I recently raced for nearly 6 hours in the tropical heat of Indonesia while wearing Coolwings and a CORE temperature monitor. Despite riding non-stop hills and blazing sunshine, my core temperature never went above 38.4 C and quickly dropped into mid 37C when I splashed myself with water. In my prior experience racing without the Coolwings, my core temperature would reach 39C and stay there unless I reduced intensity, which is hard to do when racing.

    Sizes are exact

Have two of the original versions. Loved them. loose comfortable fit. Original size unk. These two new versions are very snug (L) - wish I'd ordered next size up. If you're a new user, don't be afraid to wear them. Becomes second nature after 2nd/3rd ride, and THEY WORK.
