Our black Skin Cooler™ fabric keeps you just as cool as the white. It inherently has a reflective virtue that is created by a combination of the fibers, the fiber content, and the special way the fabric is knitted. What makes ours different? Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm). Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk. It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet. Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation. Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.

This is my 2nd review for this hat. I like my back one so much that I ordered another one in white. They work! I wet the hat just before I start my run and it helps so much. Went on vacation in Aruba and this was a life saver!
I rotate through 3 different running hats, but this is by far my favorite. Comfortable, quick drying, helps keep my head cool. Recently worn for Lubbock 70.3 Ironman.
Like fabric- does feel cooler. Hat is quite large- rides low, can easier tuck in tops of both ears, & have to overlap back Velcro quite a bit to fit. Velcro catches hair taking it off. A smaller size for women would be helpful. I’m 5’5”. Recommend for men & large women only.
Definitely a great running hat and I could feel the cooling once it got wet. It is a little stiffer than I usually like in my running hats, but overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

This purchase is the latest in a long line of De Soto running hats. Simply put these are great hats for running and for everyday. Love the basic color choices, the fit and the function. There seem to have been some minor changes to the shape of the brim, and perhaps a couple other minor changes but still a great hat. Keep making these and maintain the high level of quality and workmanship. Thank you!
I've now run many miles in this hat, comfortable, well fitting and great in both hot and cold weather protecting my bald head from the sun. The only thing I disliked was the high international postage cost.

I’ve been running in my new De Soto skin cooker hat, and it is sweet. The fit is great (thanks, Velcro!). My head is cool— literally and figuratively. I look like a rock star ⭐.

Both the white and black versions of the DeSoto Skin Cooler hat use the same SkinCooler technology. The bill of the cap is firm to maintain the shape you form it. It's not some knock off cardboard flimsy piece of junk. The rear fastener are two strips of high quality velcro and is easy and quick to find the right fit. What I love most about the cap is that the cap is not too deep. Another words, when I put the cap on, the hat does not touch my ears. The top of the hat has holes for ventilation, and this also will allow water to get to your scalp faster if you pour water on your head at races. No need to take it off. Overall, this is a well constructed cap and I can tell I will have both for a long time. Thanks DeSoto!
lovw The products so far. The hat is awesome light cool and really like the thickness of the bill. Also, really livening the riveria fli bid short. The pad is awesome and the compression is perfect. This is my first foray with the DeSoto products. Really loving the products, the quality, the fit. Awesome job DeSoto.! I’ll be purchasing more. Have my eye on the riveria or forza Tri Suit next for my Ironman Florida in April.
Love this tri-suit. It fits perfectly, like it was made for me:). Extremely comfortable fit, like a second skin and is very comfortable in all 3 disciplines. The hidden fly is such an obvious feature if you think about it - but not on any other tri-suit I have ever had - so well done on this! I love the utility pockets, especially on the legs - very useful indeed. All-in-all, this is positively the best and most comfortable tri-suit I have owned and the with added bonus of it being stylishly funky:)

I used this cap for several training runs prior to wearing it in a 70.3 triathlon. Race day the run temp was 96 when I came out of T2 and got up over 100 while I was on the course. This hat kept my head cool and played a big role in keeping me from overheating. I definitely recommend it!
Definitely giving five stars to my new favorite racing suit. I have absolutely zero regrets about this purchase. Initially, I was concerned about getting the right fit when buying a one-piece tri suit online. But after consulting with De Soto representatives I was confident enough to pull the trigger, and I haven’t looked back. It is usually an adventure getting into the suit, but once it’s on it feels like an extension of my skin. The Forza Tri Suit has all the great perks and innovations that De Soto is known for (compression band, skin cooler, liftfoil, clasico pad, etc.), and they are all noticeable and great, but the best thing I can say about this garment is how much I don’t notice it, ever. I put it on race morning and don’t think about it again until I see race pictures and realize how awesome I look!! Wetsuit legal or not, rain or shine, hot and humid, it doesn’t matter, I know what I am wearing, and I know I’ll be comfortable all day. One less thing to stress about…

Perfect thing. But i think bottom pocket really very low for running.
I۪ve run in 20 hats over the last ten years because I۪m a heavy sweater and need to keep it out of my eyes. The hard thing about choosing a hat to wear year round on the Gulf Coast is finding one that isn۪t too hot. The DeSoto skin cooler is my favorite and I۪m on my third one. It is a comfortable hat that holds up very well to washing after every run. I do hang dry it though as that prolongs the useful life of every hat.
