Bike short yes… tri short no

Padding is way too big for tri shorts. Would be like running with a wet diaper.

    Triathlon shorts

This is my first De Soto bike shorts. I am very impressed. Very comfortable and I do not feel the pad while riding. Looking forward to wearing them on my first 70.3 Ironman in a few weeks.

    Comfy and well padded but...

Overall I like the product but it doesn't come up very high around the waist. I find myself when I the aero position on the bike my butt crack is hanging out. When paired with the shirt, there is about a a 3 inch gap between the shirt and short when I'm in the aero position. Even on the run the two like to separate. According to the size chart and the rep I spoke too I have the right size. The garments are just too short.

    Performed as expected. Recommend.

Bought this brand as a relative uses it. Bought this pattern because many of the rest are…boring. Had a concern early on. Emailed company. One of the owners called my cell phone within minutes. Advised how to solve problem and - boom - worked like a charm. Wore the kit for my first tri. Very solid. Highly recommend.

    RIVIERA TRI SHORT*

Have not used them yet; planning to this Sunday. I did try them on and they feel very tight. They are a large and I am a 36 waist. I'm hoping they will loosen with wear.

Race in my Forza shorts and train in my Riviera shorts

I was hoping that the thicker pad in the Riviera shorts would make my longer training rides a little more enjoyable. Mission accomplished!! Plus I picked them up on sale.

    Riviera

Great fit and quality material / manufacturing. Used the Riviera tri short for my long training days leading up to IM Maryland. The pad is comfortable on the bike and not noticeable on the run. Highly recommend these shorts for long distance training / events.

    Best Ever

Made it through my first Ironman 70.3 wearing these shorts, and I wasn't sure what to expect. Wow!! I am pleased to say they were better than expected. These shorts were comfortable on the bike ride and no chafing whatsoever on the run. Looking forward to my next race.

    Ironman worthy shorts

These shorts were great from my recent ironman. Two features stood out for me: (1) There was great padding. Other shorts seemed flimsy, and I doubled up during previous races, but I felt great using these only during the 112 mile bike and (2) I loved the front pocket - great convenience.

    Reviera Tri

Just finished Ironman St George with these on. Great comfort! Great pockets. No chaffing on the bike or the run. These are the only shorts I race and train in

    The Perfect Tri Shorts

My wife and I are avid runners who got back into cycling a few years ago. This naturally led us to train for and participate in multi-sport events. After doing some research, we found Desoto Sport products and one of my first purchases was a pair of the Riviera Tri Shorts. These shorts are amazing! They are light and offer good compression without feeling restrictive. I also really like the comfort of the Mobius leg bands and elastic waist. The chamois is just the right thickness to be comfortable on longer rides but unnoticeable when running. The pockets are convenient and secure, and the overall construction of the shorts is superb. I now have multiple pairs of these shorts for events and brick workouts, and my wife has added them to her wardrobe as well.

    Solid shorts

I use them to run and swim all the time. Only issue is they thigh area has worn significantly, and it's almost see through now.

great short for mid distance rides

The Riviera and Forza are my go to shorts. I use the riviera for the mid to long range rides. They are the perfect thickness. The Forza is equally comfortable and I use them routinely for shorter rides. Best thing is you can swim or run right off the bike so you get excellent tri wear with the comfort of regular cycling shorts

    Best all around riding short

These shorts are where quality + function = perfection. These are my go to short for any road or mtn bike riding/racing. They are made to last, have a more compression fit (which I prefer) and the side pockets are really handy for gels in longer tri's. The material is longer lasting than other shorts I have owned and keep the shorts looking good. The stitching helps make the shorts all but indestructible... This is just a really well made, quality product.

    Fantastic shorts

These are just fantastic shorts...second only to the Forza tri shorts they make. Idk what else to say other than everything DeSoto makes is the highest quality...you’ll never be disappointed choosing this brand.

    My favorite by far

These bike shorts are absolutely the best bike shorts I have trained and raced in. First, they are comfortable (I like to buy a size up and get the perfect fit). Second, they are made of of the toughest quality material for regular, extended use...by far the most durable bike short. Third, the side pocket is a must for me when I run. They are the best, but if there was one little tweak, I would like to see the the waist fit a little higher on the backside... That said, they are the still the best tri/bike short I've ever used and I've gone through just about everything since the early '80's.

Perfect balance for a tri short

I never imagined a 7mm pad could feel this comfortable while running. Great support in the saddle. Absolutely no chafing or rubbing. My new go-to tri bottoms.

    The best!!

These have been my go to shorts for 5 years for one simple reason - they work, extremely well, and especially well for longer events. I’ve worn these in Kona 4 times and most recently in the Ultraman World Championships. 260 bike miles in Big Island conditions and no chafing or soreness. The pockets are extremely functional yet discrete, the pad is just enough for an all day hammer fest without that “diaper” feeling, and the overall comfort makes these the shorts I can count on without question. There’s so many moving pieces in triathlon, it really is huge to have gear that breeds confidence - I just know there will be zero issues with these shorts. Mahalo DeSoto for a great product!!

    Best for Iron distance races

This will be my 3rd pair of shorts in 7 years. Yeah, Let that sink in. Not too much padding, so no worries about 'bunching up' and plenty of padding in the right places for a long steady ride on the road. For me, there is no 'break-in time' to get used to the short. For me, out of the gate, these are my goto shorts for IM Distance races. Deep pockets (will hold a Nathan SpeedDraw 18oz. flask) ; a covered flap to stop the short pockets from turning into a sail in the water. Take care of these shorts and they will last. Wash, hang dry, don't swim in chlorine. Now order a pair and go do EPIC STUFF.

    All that and more

I rarely leave feedback/reviews for product but I had to this time. Being skeptical I assumed most of this was marketing hype but I liked the design and wanted to support a local company. These shorts are great. The pad is comfortable even for 56mi. They're comfortable to run it (and I went with the thicker pad). I will gladly purchase more DeSoto products as the need arises.

    Great Tri Short

Another quality product from DeSoto. I am very happy with my purchase of the Riviera Tri Short. These are just right and easily transition from bike to run. Well done Desoto!

    Great shorts!

I've been wearing these shorts now for a couple of year --- actually I've done 2 Ironman and 4 half-Ironman races in them and they are the best that I've worn. I don't change during the race, so the same pair of shorts start off under a wetsuit and ride and run with me. Like all shorts, the padding will compress after a lot of use so I'm in the habit of marking the tag with a date (month and year), rotating the shorts out after about a year's worth of use. However, I do continue to use the older shorts for running since most of my running is for triathlons.
